Scouts remember Baden Powell

A commemoration of Robert Baden Powell was held at the Arrowe Park Scout campsite recently.

The service is held every year on the Sunday closest to Powell’s birthday on February 22.

Powell, born in 1857, founded scouting in 1907 with the aim of developing character, training in citizenship and developing social, spiritual, and intellectual qualities of the youth.

During the ceremony Scout leaders were presented with merit awards.
