Man robbed of bag of cash in parking lot

A man was reportedly robbed of a substantial amount of cash when he parked at Northmead Square at around 12.15pm today (May 3).

According to the complainant, two men, armed with pistols, jumped out of a BMW, which had parked behind his car.

They told him to relax and demanded the money.

The man said he was on his way to deposit the money, which was raised by a church, at a bank.

The complainant explained he had first gone to a bank at Lakeside Mall, but went to Northmead Square instead as the other bank was too busy.

He suspects he was followed from a local shopping mall.

Police and Northmead Square had no further details or comment at the time of publishing.
