
Bonginkosi Mkhwanazi (36) and Sfiso Xaba (34) were sentenced to 15 years imprisonment each.
Etwatwa SAPS spokesperson, Capt Ramothakhi Maqabe, said the two broke into a substation in Etwatwa on August 8, last year.
“Police were called and upon arrival at the substation they found Mkhwanazi and Xaba cutting the cables,” said Maqabe.
“When they tried to flee the scene, police managed to apprehend them.”
Mkhwanazi and Xaba are serving their sentences at Modderbee Prison.
