Police need help identifying body

The body of a man found at a dam in Sentrarand, next to Mogoba Village in Putfontein, has still not been identified.

The remains were discovered on June 19.

According to Const Justice Ramaube, two members of the community alerted the police that they had seen a body in the dam when they went to pray.

“Upon arrival at the scene, police found the body, which was already decomposed,” said Ramaube.

“It is not clear how long it had been there for.”

An inquest docket has been opened at the Putfontein Police Station.

Police are still appealing to anyone with information regarding the deceased to come forward.

Contact the station on 011 845 6330.
