Bio Med explains use of new machine

The Bio Med Disposable Service held an informative meeting on their premises on Lincoln Road on Thursday (August 24).

Several parties were confused about the new machine the company has installed.

Bio Med Disposable Services is a health care risk waste incinerator.

David Sekete, CEO of Bio Med said the meeting was held to clarify what effect the new machine, Steam Treatment Injection, has on the environment.

The machine will officially be used as of September 1.

“This machine is here to help, not to cause harm,” said Sekete.

“The output of smoke will decrease.”

Several residents from The Lakewest Residents’ Association and Actonville, among others, were concerned about the use of the machine causing more pollution in the area.

“We are here to work together. We do not want to cause pollution and this machine will help to decrease pollution. Not increase it,” Sekete explained.
