Audrey Steyn, a case manager for The Guardians, said the family of the deceased received enough food to last for a month, month-and- a-half.
The NPO also managed to get the family a microwave and they’re waiting for a refrigerator to be
delivered.
Steyn said even though the family received a lot of food, cleaning products and toiletries, they
still need to communicate with various people during this time involving funeral and other
arrangements.
Steyn suggested that anybody who wants to help can buy a Vodacom airtime voucher and send a picture of the voucher to her via WhatsApp on 083 627 0007.
Donations are also payable into a bank account for the family. Steyn urged those interested to get the banking details form her on the same number.
Steyn said the biggest aspect, however, is the fact that the family has no means of transport, and they want to buy the family a vehicle.
Elmarie Bianchina, Louis mother, thanked The Guardians and members of the community
for their contributions.
The family won’t have a public funeral, but rather a private memorial.
Steyn asked that the family’s privacy be respected.
