Keep a serial number of electronic items you buy

This will help police track down your stolen electronics.

Benoni police are urging residents to keep a record of serial numbers for the electronic items they buy.

Benoni SAPS spokesperson Captain Nomsa Sekele said this is to help the police when the items are stolen.

“The serial number will help the police to track down the stolen items from pawn shops or from items found by the SAPS,” she explained.
