Trying to bring peace in Actonville area

Combating crime in Actonville one step at a time

The Tsidkeni Tabernacle Church hosted a prayer march in Actonville on October 13.

According to Pastor Paul Francis, the march was held to pray against crime, drug and alcohol abuse, prostitution and violence in homes and families.

“Children at the age of 10 are hooked on drugs,” he said.

“Children who are 12 and 13 years old are prostituting themselves. It’s a major concern in our community.”

Francis said local churches have come together to try and deal with the problem spiritually.

“Once the spirit has been dealt with, we can then deal with the physical,” he said.

Community and church members took part in the march that was supported by the Actonville SAPS and the EMPD.

The Mary Moodley Clinic gave a talk on cancer and provided the community with services related to any health issues.
