Dirk Bloem was appointed as the new deputy principal of Rynfield Primary School on October 1.
Bloem started at the school on October 9, when school’s reopened.
The 39-year-old started his teaching career in 2001 at Colin Mann Primary School in Germiston before moving to Jeppe High School for Girls where he taught until September.

He said he has been really impressed by the standard of the school.
“I’m amazed by the commitment of the staff, the friendly and well-mannered children, their passion for sport and the respect they have for one another,” said Bloem.
He said he plans to create a balance between education and sport, not forgetting the cultural side as well.
