A Modderbee Correctional Services warden who hit his wife with a steel pan on her head was sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for attempted murder at the Benoni Regional Court on February 25.
Veli Masondo (42) pleaded guilty to the charges and his sentence will be suspended with two years.
Masondo was involved in a quarrel with his wife on January 21, 2018, at their home in Daveyton which lead him to hit his wife on the head.
He is serving his sentence at the Boksburg Correctional Services.
