The couple arrested for assault GBH and child neglect after they allegedly chained up their 14-year-old son appeared at the Benoni Regional Court on March 13.
The case was postponed to May 6 for further assessment of the child.

It is alleged that they kept their son chained up for 11 years on a plot in Putfontein.
The duo was arrested on December 27, 2018, and they both received bail of R1 500 each.
The child was found by the gardener, who then alerted the police.
