Police launch manhunt for Brentwood Park suspects who tied elderly couple up

The couple was taken to hospital and were later discharged.

Police are on a manhunt for four suspects in connection with a house robbery in Brentwood Park on April 23 at midnight.

Benoni SAPS spokesperson Captain Nomsa Sekele said according to the 59- year-old complainant, he heard his dog barking and then woke up to see what might be happening.

“As he opened the door to let the dog out, an unknown man pointed a firearm at him,” said Sekele.

“The alleged suspect hit the man on the head with an unknown object, then suddenly three other suspects entered the house, tied the man and his wife in the bedroom.”

Sekele said a neighbour alerted a security company when she heard the noise.

The couple was taken to hospital and were later discharged.

The robbers fled with the couple’s rings, tablet and a laptop.

A case of house robbery was opened at the Benoni Police Station.
