Freedom Day was not a public holiday for EMPD officers who arrested 54 motorists for driving while under the influence.
“The roadblock was staged at the corner of Geluksdal and 12th roads and drivers who had had one too many were attended to,” said Chief Supt Wilfred Kgasago.

“A few motor vehicles were also stopped and searched, as well as the occupants of the vehicles.”
They will appear in the Springs Magistrate’s Court soon.
