Loved ones want answers after Actonville businessman shot dead

Actonville businessman Donavan Williams was shot dead outside a family member’s home on June 29 at around 6.30pm, this according to a source close to the deceased.

According to the source, the 40-year-old, who died after sustaining three gunshot wounds, was of a humble nature and loved by the community.

“He never harmed anyone, was always happy and lent a helping hand wherever possible,” said the source.

“He was a role model for the youth and did charity work for the underprivileged.

“We don’t have any information regarding the incident from police, so we don’t know who his murderer is, but we want answers and justice needs to prevail.”

Williams is survived by his wife and three children.

Actonville SAPS communications officer Capt Pheello Mothapo confirmed the incident.

“The police were alerted of the matter after an anonymous tip-off that a body had been found inside a vehicle in Alice Street,” said Mothapo.

“The victim was found with gunshots to the upper body.

“The police are investigating a case of murder.

“The motive for the murder is unknown, but we are working the case.”
