BFS officers arrest two in Daveyton

Investigation continues in all cases.

From July 12 to 14, Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) officers arrested three suspects and recovered six motor vehicles in and around the Benoni area.

“Officers responding to complaints of domestic violence arrested two people in Umthambeka Section, Tembisa, and Sol Motlana Street, Daveyton,” said BFS spokesperson WO Grant Giblin.

“While on patrol in Kwartel Street, Norkem Park, members noticed a suspicious-looking male. Upon searching him, he was allegedly found in possession of nyaope.

“The suspect was arrested immediately and the drugs confiscated.”

In further incidents, six abandoned vehicles were recovered.

• A white Toyota Quantum in Extension Four, Etwatwa.

• A white Quantum at a casino in Kempton Park reported hijacked separately at Vosman and Midrand.

• A white Toyota Corolla in Slovo Park, Springs, stolen on a Springs case.

• A blue International truck on R21 North after R562, reported hijacked from a business in a Boschkop case.

• A white Toyota Hilux in Welamlambo Section, Tembisa, stolen in a Tembisa case.

• An orange Ford Kuga in Masimini Section, KwaThema, reported hijacked in a Ratanda case.

“Working together with the community led to the recovering of the six vehicles,” Giblin said.

The suspects, aged 30 to 73, will appear in the local magistrate’s courts to face charges of domestic violence, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, malicious damage to property and possession of drugs.
