Author, news editor speaks on climate change

Kings has been speaking about climate change for about eight years and said, after working in rural areas and villages, not much has changed since apartheid in terms of people living in pollution.

Author and news editor of the Mail and Guardian Sipho Kings recently spoke on climate change and proactive approaches to combating the very same at the Northfield Methodist Church recently.

“There is an importance on individual action in terms of what can be done to counter climate change,” said Kings, who values environmental advocacy.

“Everyone is capable of something that can build up to a bigger change.

“This includes behavioural changes and what you can do with your money to make a positive impact.

“Buying items in season and knowing what your pension and investments are tied to, for example, is also something to look into.”

The talk also highlighted renewable energy and anything that does not add to pollution.
