BFS committed to helping the community

“Benoni Flying Squad members commit to serve their community and offer a high standard of policing wherever they may be deployed across Gauteng,” said BFS spokesperson WO Grant Giblin.

After ending 2019 with a bang by arresting 71 suspects, recovering 32 motor vehicles and four firearms, the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) is looking to remain committed to helping the community this year.

Forty suspects were arrested for crimes including possession of stolen and counterfeit goods, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, illegal mining, possession of explosives, hijacking, theft, malicious damage to property, armed robbery, trespassing, reckless and negligent driving, bribery, attempted murder and robbery.

These successes were achieved mostly around the following areas in Ekurhuleni, Daveyton, Isando, Kempton Park, Benoni, Tembisa, Primrose, Brakpan, Windmill Park, Vosloorus, KwaThema, Ivory Park, Crystal Park, Boksburg, Putfontein, Springs, Brackendown, Reiger Park, Olifantsfontein, Petit, Etwatwa, Alexandra, Norkem Park, Rabie Ridge and even other areas such as Kagiso, Johannesburg, Delmas and Lyttleton.
