More drugs off the streets

Three alleged drug dealers were put behind bars by the EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) officers after nyaope, khat, rocks and crystal meth were confiscated in Reiger Park and Benoni on February 15.

“In Prince’s Avenue at 2.30pm two male suspects, aged 32 and 34, were caught with six ziplock bags of khat, five pieces of rock and a ziplock bag of crystal meth, all valued at R1 800.

“Cash totalling R1 450 was also confiscated,” said EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng.

During the crime prevention operation in Reiger Park (Ramaphosa), a 34-year old woman was apprehended after officers uncovered 21 knotted plastic bags of nyaope, valued at R840 and R2 160 in cash, in Idada Road.
