Join Die Dameskring and make a difference
They meet every third Monday at the community hall in Rynpark at 7pm.
Die Dameskring is a national women’s organisation striving to make a difference by taking on projects that acknowledge organisations in the community.
The Benoni branch was established in 1983, and has grown to 26 members, making it the largest group in the country.
Chairperson Lydia Jankowitz said their most recent project was cleaning a piece of open veld opposite Northmead Clinic.
The organisation is looking for new members aged 18 and over.
They meet every third Monday at the community hall in Rynpark at 7pm.

“While anyone is welcome to join us as we are a multi-cultural organisation, our meetings are conducted in Afrikaans,” Jankowitz said.
“There is a theme’s each month. Our recent topic was about the importance of children being educated in their home language.”
She added that members can join at any time of the year.
They receive an annual magazine and a monthly newsletter, and there is a joining fee of R500 per year and R250 for members over 70.
