Three men rob Mayfield business

The robbers took cash, electronics and cellphones.

The Putfontein police are searching for three men who committed a business robbery on April 1 in Mayfield Extension One, Putfontein, at around 2am.

Putfontein SAPS spokesperson Sgt Raider Ubisi said it is alleged that the 47-year-old victim and his wife were asleep in their house, from which they run a business.

“They heard a loud bang and then three men were inside their house, two of them armed with firearms,” said Ubisi.

“One of the men shot at the husband, but missed.”

Ubisi said the man and his wife were then instructed to lie down and the suspects tied them up.

The robbers took cash, electronics and cellphones.

No one was injured.
