Young local aspires to grow his clothing brand

"I completed my studies in marketing management in 2017. I then decided to start a clothing brand with Nkadimeng. At first we started by designing caps, hats and T-shirts."

A young businessman from Kingsway is aspiring to become a successful brand owner to empower community members around him.

Nkosinathi Msimango and Keletso Nkadimeng partnered up to start a clothing brand called Cava in 2015. The two met in Damelin College in Benoni, where Msimango was studying marketing management, which he completed in 2017.

I completed my studies in marketing management in 2017. I then decided to start a clothing brand with Nkadimeng. At first we started by designing caps, hats and T-shirts. As time went by, we developed new ideas, and started designing female clothing as well.

People from different communities are supporting this initiative. We sometimes host events where we unite as brand managers at Barcelona Park, in Etwatwa. For now, we want to grow the brand so that we are able to transform this whole business into one of the biggest enterprises in the country,” he said.

The Cava brand aims to uplift local brands and create employment around Benoni and other neighbouring communities. Msimango said that they want to get a small space where they will operate as an office and serve the community with quality clothing.

“We are currently low on funds to perform mass production, we have been working with various designers and sewers whom we also support, by seeking their help when we are in need of it.

We are looking for sponsorship or possibly an investor who is willing to fund us with R10 000 to R15 000 so that we can employ other people and perform mass production,” said Msimango.

To invest, support or for more information, contact Msimango on 067 774 3284 or on Facebook CavaClothing and on Twitter @Cavaclothing.
