Shoprite Checkers Swipe for Good initiative does not benefit NSPCA

"We confirm that we are still in partnership with the Woolworths (and partners) MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet initiative and the Pick n Pay Smart Shopper initiative."

The National Council of SPCAs (NSPCA) confirms their separation from the Shoprite Checkers Swipe for Good initiative which had major teething issues from the onset with unauthorised use of the SPCA trademarks.

Marcelle Meredith, NSPCA executive director, said this decision, which has not been taken lightly, came after months of differences and a Memorandum of Understanding which has not been completed and signed yet.

“From October 15, 2019, to April 21, 2020, the NSPCA has only benefited R16 252  this is only over R2 000 a month while our brand offers a great deal of credibility to the initiative.”

She added the NSPCA would like to thank the members of the public which nominated the NSPCA as their beneficiary, but please note that the NSPCA will not benefit anymore from this, even if cards are swiped.
