An 18-year-year old learner was arrested after he fatally stabbed his friend at Alliance extension, an area situated next to Modderbee Prison on May 15.
Benoni SAPS spokesperson said it is alleged that on May 14 at about 7pm, the two friends were at the street corner when the argument ensued between them.
“The deceased decided to walk away and the alleged suspect followed him and stabbed him on his upper and lower body and then ran away,” said Sekele.

Good and intelligent work by the investigating officer led to the learner’s arrest and detention at Benoni SAPS on May 15 around 3pm, after he followed information on his whereabouts.
The station commander Brig Ntakuseni Lukhwareni warns the community not to take advantage of the lockdown situation, commit crime thinking they will not get arrested.
The suspect is expected to appear at the magistrate’s court soon.
