BFS makes more arrests

Investigation continues in all cases.

From May 22 to May 24, the Benoni Flying Squad members arrested three suspects, recovered three motor vehicles and one motorcycle. 

“Officers arrested two people whilst allegedly driving around Etwatwa and selling cigarettes,” said BFS WO Grant Giblin.

“At the time of arrest, they were found in possession of 12 cartons of cigarettes.

“The cigarettes were confiscated and the suspect’s white Toyota Etios in which they were travelling was impounded.”

Giblin said officers followed up on information and arrested one person at Kiepersol Street, Dalpark, Brakpan, after he was allegedly found in possession of a Honda motorcycle reported stolen on a Johannesburg Central case.

“In further policing three abandoned vehicles were recovered,” he said.

• A Blue Mercedes Benz on High Road, Kempton Park reported stolen on a Pretoria West case

• A White Toyota Hilux at Parkland Drive, Boksburg reported stolen on a Northam case

• A White Toyota Quantum at Mockie Street, Daveyton reported hijacked on a Putfontein case.

The suspects, aged between 25 and 29, will be appearing in the local magistrate’s courts facing charges of possession of stolen motorcycle and contravening the Disaster Management Act.
