Stafford inducted as 49th president of Benoni Van Ryn
The club achieved a Platinum Presidential Citation from Rotary International for 2019/2020 for meeting and exceeding all their goals
Major Margaret Stafford was inducted as the 49th president of the Rotary Club of Benoni Van Ryn, recently.
Stafford is a Salvation Army officer, with her husband, Jeff, and is a mom of four and grandmother to two.
She stated that the club has a great history and will continue to serve the community of Benoni for many years to come.
“We will be continuing with the projects already begun by past president Charmaine Cole-Niven. These will include a big project involving God Knows Community Centre, in Wattvill,e and helping a number of various other NGOs and projects.”
She added that they have two interact clubs, one at Pinnacle College and the other at Wordsworth High School, which have also been very active throughout the year.

“Although we have not been able to meet as a club during lockdown, we have not stopped helping the community. Thanks to an amazing young boy and his dog in Canada we have been able to feed a good number of families who are really struggling to put food on the table.”
The club achieved a Platinum Presidential Citation from Rotary International for 2019/2020 for meeting and exceeding all their goals.
Neil Murray was awarded an Honorary Membership in recognition of his 40 years of service with the club, which just happens to coincide with the year that he celebrates his 80th birthday.
His achievements, in both Rotary and his personal life, are profound and are the cause of him mentoring so many members and projects throughout his career.
The members of the club, the Anns and friends of Rotary all wished Margaret Stafford all the best for her year.
