Having fun while supporting a worthy cause is what Vibe and the Greater Benoni Child Welfare (GBCW) want to achieve by hosting the first Vibe Outdoor Field Picnic on October 31.
Vibe is an event brand designed to revive the “vibe” in a social and entertainment nature and since Covid-19; we all need some family time outside.
The event will be held on the field owned by the GBCW and all profits made by the sale of the tickets will be given to the organisation.
The day will be filled with fun traditional games, such as a sack race, egg relay race and tug of war, that will begin the moment two teams are ready.
With it being Halloween, on the day attendees are encouraged to dress up their children for the chance to win a prize.
As part of the Halloween traditional custom of trick or treat, all children will be given sweets.
Cosplay enthusiasts are welcome to take part, as the 501st Legions (Star Wars accurate replica group) will be making a guest appearance on the day.
Covid-19 safety regulations:
• Masks must be worn when social distancing is not possible.
• Sanitising stations will be available for constant sanitising of hands and game equipment.
• All attendees are expected to bring their masks and sanitiser.
• The field will be lined out in demarcated 4mx4m squares for picnics, with a 2mx2m pathway between the squares.
Picnic site bookings or single person access costs R50, while children younger than 12 years enter for free.
Send an email to events@benonichildwelfare.org.za or vibe.events.info.sa@gmail.com to make a booking.
Gates will open at 7am and close at 6pm.
The day is expected to be a fun family picnic with music, food and lots of exciting activities.
