Brothers Mike and Dave Richardson weren't pleased with the turnout as they said they didn't get much business, which they usually do. But, they enjoyed the EMRIG market as they always do selling their railway items. Photo: Jemma Pringle.
The Eastern Model Railway Interest Group (EMRIG) held its market at Northmead Mall on May 29 from 9am to noon.
As the name implies, the club is an interest group and is not specific to any modelling scale, era, railway or continent.
Interests range from live steam to real steam, diesel, American, British, European and modelling scales of all types.
Theuns Wessels (left) and Mark Peddle (club secretary) were incredibly happy with the turnout on the day and are looking forward to more events such as this one. Photo: Jemma Pringle.
Tony (left) and Dagan Den were seen selling model railways and collectable items that belonged to Tony's mother, as well as items that have been imported from overseas. Photo: Jemma Pringle.
Retha and Jacobus Pienaar were seen selling masks, jugs and railway pieces. Although they are not members of EMRIG, they do enjoy being a part of their market. Photo: Jemma Pringle.
Mark Peddle, the club’s secretary, said, “The day went very well. We have had some nice trading today. It was well attended, having 52 tables. It was just a great turnout considering how little we have had since lockdown, it was just a great surprise.”
