Covid-19 Wall of Remembrance: A tribute to Lyn Barnett

The City Times invites local families who have lost a loved one (who also lived in Benoni) to Covid-19 to submit a photograph of their loved one and a short tribute, telling our readers about them (in no more than 100 words).

Lyn Barnett lost the battle against Covid-19 on June 10 at the age of 73.

According to her daughter, Caryn Viljoen, on the night before she died, she called the ICU nurses into her room and prayed over them for their protection.

“That speaks volumes about the woman she was. My mother always put everybody else’s needs before hers,” said Caryn.

“My mother loved her family fiercely and will always be remembered for her gentle nature and smiling face. We take comfort in knowing she has been reunited with our father in heaven and her broken body has been restored.

“We love and miss you so much, mum.”
