Nyaope suspect arrested, two vehicles recovered

According to Giblin, investigation continues in all cases.

During a slightly quieter weekend for the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) officers, they recently arrested a suspect and recovered two vehicles.

“Officers searched a suspicious-looking person walking on the street in East Section, Etwatwa. The suspect was found in possession of 26 packets of nyaope. He was immediately arrested,” said BFS WO Grant Giblin.

“The abandoned vehicles recovered included a white Audi Q3, which had overturned on the corner of Radon Road in Springs.

“It was reported hijacked on a Springs case and was used earlier on Saturday (July 24) during a cash in transit robbery.

“A silver Volkswagen Polo was recovered at Kaalfontein, Ivory Park, and was reportedly hijacked in Ivory Park.”
According to Giblin, the nyaope suspect will be appearing in the Daveyton Magistrate’s Court on a charge of drug possession.
