Yesterday morning, a man was injured when his light motor vehicle rear-ended a truck on the N12 near the Tom Jones offramp in Benoni.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 09h14 to find the wrecked car and truck in the left-hand lane. A 38-year-old man was found seated inside the vehicle.

Medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained a serious injury to his arm. The man was treated and provided pain-relief medication before being transported to Life Glynwood Hospital for further care.

The driver of the truck, fortunately, escaped injury.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
