Hospice and SPCA enjoy BCT cake

The newspaper officially turned 100 on September 10. It is a brandied fruitcake – the finished product with all three tiers and all the exquisite decoration weighed 20kg.

A cake donated to the Benoni SPCA and Hospice East Rand was part of a beautiful three-tier Benoni City Times 100th birthday cake baked by Tania Riley of Cake Arts in Farrarmere.

The newspaper officially turned 100 on September 10. It is a brandied fruitcake – the finished product with all three tiers and all the exquisite decoration weighed 20kg.

“We are delighted to offer you a slice of our centenary celebration and we hope you can to use it towards fundraising,” said City Times editor Lana O’Neill.

“However, whatever you decide to do with the cake is entirely up to you. It is delicious!”
