A brush with local artists: meet Marcelle Brener
The art route is held on every last Sunday of the month (October 31) at the CR Swart Park, Rynfield from 10:00 to 15:00.
Benoni Art Route member Marcelle Brener finds peace and happiness while expressing herself through her art.
The 65-year-old said art sets her soul free.
“When I paint, nothing else exists and I am transported into a realm where the daily stresses and strains disappear. This is my happy, peaceful space and my work reflects an ethereal quality without my planning,” she said.

The Springs resident obtained a National Diploma in Art and Design at the Johannesburg Art College between 1977 and 1979. She has vast experience in design.
She started art classes with Pam Selkirk from February 2017 until March 2018, but joined the art route thereafter and started exhibiting her work.
What sets her apart from other artists is her light-sensitive touch when she paints.

She uses many thin layers of paint to describe her subject matter. Her work is very detailed with the intent to bring energy and life to her work, for the viewer to indulge in.
Her artwork is a mixture of landscapes, seascapes, wildlife and nature painted in oils.
