Village Walk knits for newborns
According to audiologist Jolandi Hitge-Ludick from the NPO, the elderly were asked to knit booties and beanies but they also knitted 10 sets of vests for the babies.
Kempton Park-based NPO Kind2Hearing challenged the knitting group at Village Walk Retirement Village in Brentwood Park to knit beanies and booties for babies, which will be donated to the Grace Factory.
According to audiologist Jolandi Hitge-Ludick from the NPO, the elderly were asked to knit booties and beanies but they also knitted 10 sets of vests for the babies.
“We are blessed by their contribution and applaud their passion,” the audiologist said.
“The Grace Factory makes up hampers for new moms to use for their newborns.”
