Vaccinations going well in Actonville

While the government continues to lead the vaccine rollout initiative, more than 1 801 834 vaccine doses have been administered in Ekurhuleni as of January 13.

The Department of Health is still encouraging people to vaccinate at their nearest vaccination sites.

The City Times visited Mary Moodley Clinic (Actonville Community Centre) where 120 people were vaccinated on January 13.

The vaccination site caters to residents in Actonville, Watville and other surrounding areas, offering the Pfizer vaccine.

The City Times spoke to 41-year-old Elisa Simbine of Watville who received her second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

“I am happy I am now vaccinated for the second time. My experience with the vaccine hasn’t been that bad, although last time I experienced minor side effects,” said Simbine.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health shared that individuals older than 18 years who have received two doses of the Pfizer vaccine are eligible to receive a booster dose of the same vaccine after six months and those who received the Johnson and Johnson vaccine are eligible for a booster shot after two months.

Meanwhile, those who have not completed full vaccination are urged to go to their nearest site to be fully protected.

The Department adds that you can get your second jab at any vaccination site as you don’t need to return to the site where you received your first dose.
