LATEST – WATER INTERRUPTIONS: Technicians on site to sort out electrical fault

There is no estimated restoration time available at the moment.

The City of Ekurhuleni is aware of the power outage at the Mapleton booster substation which has resulted in Rand Water losing supply.

The preliminary investigation shows that there has been an electrical fault associated with cables at the substation.

“Our qualified engineers are on site with Eskom and Rand Water technicians to assist with all technical inputs,” said Zweli Dlamini, metro spokesperson.

“The City is working towards restoring the 10 MVA transformer which will assist in keeping all Rand Water pumps operational.

“There is no estimated restoration time available at the moment.

“The City of Ekurhuleni apologises for the inconvenience caused by the most recent interruption.”
