LATEST ON WATER INTERRUPTIONS: Rand Water resumes pumping at full capacity

Rand Water wishes to emphasise that residents in high lying areas may not receive water immediately due to low reservoirs’ levels.

Rand Water resumed pumping water at full capacity on February 9 around 17:45 following the restoration of the power supply to Ekurhuleni metro’s Mapleton booster station.

Rand Water spokesperson Justice Mohale said the recovery of the system will take some time as most of the reservoirs’ levels are very low.

“Some residents in high lying areas may not receive water immediately as the system may take days to fully recover,” said Mohale.

Rand Water urges consumers to continue using water sparingly and apologises for the inconvenience.
