The Crystal Park Police Forum invites the public to attend a Senior Citizens Strategic Campaign and Ladies Coffee With A Cop on March 26 from 8:00 to 15:00 at Hebron Theological College.
Elderly people are encouraged to attend the meeting which will tackle issues affecting the aged and crime in general.
The forum, which consists of neighbourhood watch, CPF and SAPS members, will host the meeting in line with the National Social Crime Prevention Strategy.
According to the spokesperson for the forum Zipho Mkhonza, they decided to host the elderly in particular as they recognise that senior citizens are often left out of community programmes because of their age.
“This event will create a platform for a dialogue, the exchange of ideas to unfold underlying issues affecting elderly people and influences of crime in communities,” said Mkhonza.
