Document fraudster nabbed in Actonville
Police found USB storage devices containing official documents.
A 30-year-old foreign national was arrested on charges of forgery on March 29 at 9:00.
According to Sgt Godin Nyathi, the spokesperson for Actonville Police Station, a 24-year-old woman visited the customer service centre to have a copy of her matric certificate certified.
“The officer on duty, Sgt Tiisetso Dube, found inconsistencies throughout the document and upon questioning this, the woman confessed to buying the document for R300 from a local internet café,” he said.

“Members were dispatched to the premises and found various USB drives containing matric certificates, doctors’ notes, asylum seeker documents and Covid-19 certificates.”
The woman and the man were arrested, and the matter was handed over to the Serious Commercial Crimes Unit in Germiston for investigation.
