Players take a swing for Lions
Community support is the driving force behind club’s outreach projects.
The Benoni Lakes Lions Club recently hosted its annual golf day at State Mines Golf Course.
The day formed part of the club’s ongoing fund-raising efforts, which is utilised to fund its community outreach programmes.
Thanks to the support of 59 willing players, the club raised over R46 000.
“Gaining support for events such as these have become increasingly difficult, but we are grateful for the players and generous sponsors, as well as donors who heeded our call,” said Beaulieu Maré, president of the club.
“Despite the many challenges our organisation faces, the need for our service to others is greater than ever before. Therefore, we truly appreciate those who assist us.”
