BFS arrests three
Suspects have all been remanded in police custody and will soon appear in court.
During routine police operations, members of the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) arrested three people on various charges.
Members responded to a tip-off regarding a white Toyota Quantum transporting stolen goods.
The vehicle was intercepted before the N12 on-ramp at Tom Jones Road.
“While searching the vehicle, two truck tyres valued at R30 000 were found,” said WO Grant Giblin, spokesperson.
“Upon his arrest, the suspect offered officers R1 000 for his release. A subsequent charge of bribery has been added to the charge sheet.”
Further arrests include one of possession of drugs on North Rand Road, Kempton Park. Crystal methamphetamine was confiscated.
A man was arrested outside doctor’s rooms on Dunswart Road, Boksburg. The suspect allegedly stole a laptop and wallet from a parked vehicle.
