Local NPO needs donations for Nelson Mandela Day

In honour of Nelson Mandela, a Benoni-based NPO called A Way Out, in collaboration with Serve To Grow Foundation, Lethabong Day Care Centre and Jason’s Angels, urge the public to support the organisation by donating food parcels for underprivileged communities.

Toni Kruger, founder of the organisation, said the NPO will conduct a community initiative project on Nelson Mandela Day.

“We need donations to feed 5 000 meals to underprivileged families. We need food parcels, fruits, juice and anything that assist in feed the community in need,” said Kruger.

The founder of Serve To Grow Foundation, Melissa Huber, said the feeding and distribution will take place from July 18 to 24.

“We will also be having our winter warmer over this period. As a result, we seek donations of blankets, beanies and scarves,” said Huber.
