Members of the BFS followed up on information about drugs being stored at a residence in Park Street, Brakpan.

Travelling on the R21 from Pretoria, the vehicle was stopped that the R562 off-ramp with the help of a local private security company.
“The suspects were arrested on the scene and detained at the Silverton SAPS,” said Giblin.

“Information received indicated that he was transporting munitions and a chase ensued,” said Giblin.
“The vehicle was bought to a stop on Albertina Sisulu Drive, Bruma. A thorough search led to the recovery of 15 live rounds of ammunition, five tubed explosives, blasting cartridges, detonation ropes and capped fuse cords.
“The driver of the vehicle was arrested on charges of possession of unlicensed ammunition and explosives,” said Giblin.
