Police conduct school safety awareness campaign

Learners were encouraged to report any criminal activity to the police

Police officers from Etwatwa SAPS, social workers from the Department of Social Development (Benoni Office), CPFs and pastors recently conducted a school safety campaign at Quantum Secondary School.

According to Etwatwa SAPS spokesperson Sergeant Khensani Mathebula, the campaign began with random searches in classes to seize any dangerous weapons and drugs.

“The campaign continued with a school safety talk where learners were addressed about rape, human trafficking, domestic violence, bullying and drugs. Learners were also enlightened about how a criminal record can affect one’s future.”

Learners were encouraged to report any criminal activity to the police.
