Library to reopen on September 1

Patrons are welcome to use alternative libraries although drop off and collect services will still be available

The Benoni Library is set to be reopened on September 1, following its closure on May 11 for renovations.

The allocated R3.4m grant-funded face-lift included the replacement of carpets, tiles, toilets and roof repairs, in line with occupational health and safety regulations.

According to Zweli Dlamini, spokesperson for the City of Ekurhuleni, contractors are finishing the installation of the carpets.

“Frequent users who have library books do not need to worry as return dates will be extended to make provision for the temporary closure of the facility,” said Dlamini.
