School honours female educators

Elize Froneman is passionate about education and is driven by the intelligence and passion of the teachers around her.
Froneman has been a teacher and part of the Department of Education for 49 years. She, along with 16 other women, was honoured by the Sion Private Academy Clearwater Campus for their contribution to education on August 11.
Even after four decades, Froneman said she’s still as driven as she was when she started, adding that the classroom is the best place to be.
“I love seeing the love, passion and drive of the teachers which motivates me a lot. I’m passionate about education because I love seeing teachers who are passionate about the work they do.
“I also love seeing how our schools contribute to the development of our children and I’m impressed by how far our education system has come,” she said.
According to the academy, the ladies were celebrated for being great educators, mothers and wives, adding that their contribution to education can’t be overlooked.
“They were celebrated for the impact they have made on the educational system and were also celebrated for how they have helped the system grow to where it is today. We also incorporated the quote ‘there is no limit to what we, as women, can accomplish’,” said the school’s marketing head, Cassandra Maxine Otto.
