Spurs CC make it two out of two in Premier League

Amaan Khan took 5/13 while captain Saahil Khan top scored with 38 as Midrand were beaten by eight wickets.

Actonville Spurs CC bowler Amaan Khan took five wickets to help his team continue its perfect start to the Eastern Premier League season after beating Midrand by eight wickets at Lords Cricket Ground on October 29.

In overcast conditions and with the ball swinging more, Khan ripped the Midrand batting line-up apart to return with a figure of 5/13 in eight overs.

This was Spurs’ second win on the trot after brushing Alberton aside on the opening weekend of the season on October 22.

Midrand captain Thande Mrawu won the toss and decided to bat first but that turned out to be a miscalculated decision as his team was skittled out for 80 inside 27 overs.

In response, the home side reached the target inside 12 overs with captain Saahil Khan top-scoring with 38.

Despite the wickets of the skipper and his opening partner Kayle Degambul (2), Shaveer Khan and Kayle Archery’s third-wicket partnership of 43 took their team to 83 to win convincingly by eight wickets.
