Pinnacle celebrates achievements of highflyers

Former headboy, Marco Dias attained six distinctions making him the school’s top achiever.

Donning his Pinnacle Collage Rynfield tie, principal Clint Gaffney, stood at the doors of the campus entrance hall, ready to greet the 40 matriculants of 2023.

With a broad smile, he said that he was proud that the school had once again attained a 100% pass rate.

“I am extremely proud of this group of individuals, not only have they maintained incredible standards they continuously astound us with their diligence and hard work,” he said.

“They have set an incredible benchmark for the class of 2024.”

Being one of the first to arrive at the school to collect her results, Hayley Hubbert said that meticulously working through past papers aided her preparations.

Attaining four distinctions she is looking forward to stepping on her journey to adulthood.

Catriona Wittstock: (Afrikaans, business studies, geography, life sciences and mathematics).

“I am excited to start the next chapter of my life, I will be pursuing a qualification in teaching,” she said.

“I wish the matrics of 2024 all the best for the year ahead. Diligence is key, however, do not forget that it is a journey, so ensure that you are present and enjoy every moment.”

Cheers and applause erupted as the former head boy and the school’s top achiever arrived.

Marco Dias attained six distinctions in Afrikaans, engineering graphics design, life orientation, mathematics, physical science and life sciences.

“I am incredibly happy with my results,” he said as classmates congratulated him.

“I did the work and achieved what I set out to do. I am looking forward to kicking off my studies at TUKS.”

Danielle Fischer: (Afrikaans, English, life orientation, life sciences and mathematics).

Dias will be studying mechanical engineering.

“I love a challenge. I am excited for what the future may hold,” he said.

“I believe when you apply and commit yourself 100%, you will reap the benefits of your hard work.”

As the class of 2023 left the school premises for the last time, Gaffney took the opportunity to leave this year’s matrics with words of encouragement.

“The sky is the limit. We expect great things from each and every learner,” he said.

“However, we do not expect anyone to complete this chapter alone. We are here every step of the way to guide and support them.”
