Unity Secondary achieves 79,4% pass rate

The school last year attained 85.7%.

The Unity Secondary School class of 2023 achieved a 79,4% pass rate, a slight drop compared to the 85.7% they attained in the 2022 National Senior Certificate (NSC) results.

Of the 444 learners who sat for their NSC exams, 181 obtained a bachelor’s pass and 99 of the learners achieved diploma passes.

Two learners, Ntokozo Mbaleni and Ofentse Rapulana, shone brightest with six distinctions each.

SIX DISTINCTIONS: Ntokozo Mbaleni (IsiXhosa home language, English first additional language, business studies, life sciences, religion studies and life orientation).

The principal of the school Melody Maseko, said these results will strengthen the school’s commitment to maintaining and enhancing its legacy of academic success.

“As we celebrate our achievements, we also recognize our dedicated teachers who have played a pivotal role in guiding and supporting our learners. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic and the large number of matriculants through collective efforts, we helped most of our learners excel,” said Maseko.
