EMPD makes four arrests

The suspects will be appearing in court soon.

Members of the EMPD Bronberg Precinct made four arrests on January 24.

According to spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Kelebogile Thepa, three women were arrested in Bomba Street, Daveyton, after it was alleged that they had attacked and assaulted a 53-year-old man.

“It is alleged that the victim had used his girlfriend’s money for shopping,” said Thepa.

“The suspects, who are allegedly friends of the girlfriend, assaulted the victim.”

The women were detained at the Daveyton Police Station.

On the same day, a 24-year-old man was arrested, in Grant Road, Lillyvale, for being in possession of a stolen vehicle.

“While conducting patrols, officers saw the green Fiat Palio parked next to the side of the road,” said Thepa.

“It was confirmed that the vehicle had been reported as stolen in Elsburg and the driver was immediately arrested. He was detained at the Putfontein Police Station.”
