Lesiba Secondary School achieves 94% pass rate
Last year, the school achieved an overall pass rate of 98%.
One of the top-performing schools in Daveyton, Lesiba Secondary School, achieved a 94% matric pass rate.
Although this year’s results dropped slightly compared to the 98% they bagged in the 2022 National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams, principal Kenneth Tshabalala said they were pleased with the overall pass rate.
According to Tshabalala, the number of learners who were progressed to the next Grade because of age impacted this year’s results. However, he said they were happy their efforts had paid off.
“We wouldn’t have achieved these outstanding results without the educators’ hard work and dedication. We teach our learners from Monday to Sunday, targeting learners doing content subjects like mathematics and physical science.”
Tshabalala said he was pleased that, over the years, the school had managed to stay above 90%.
“For such a school to remain relevant with its pass rate, I annually ensure that I lead by example. I am always available for the staff and learners. I’m the first person to arrive in the morning and the last to leave. At Lesiba, there’s motivation, monitoring and moderation of learners and educators,” said Tshabalala.
